West End Students to see Selma

Thanks to Rainbow Cinemas, West End students, along with students from other Alt9 schools, have an opportunity to enjoy a private screening of “Selma” on February 12^th. The film is based on the 1965 political marches from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.  These marches demonstrated the desire for African-Americans to exercise their constitutional right to vote.  This 54 mile march eventually led to the “Voting Rights Act” whereby restrictions preventing African-Americans from voting were lifted.
